    "PANSY" GIVES BIRTH TO TWENTY-THREE PIGLETS... NINETY-NINE OFFSPRING IN FOUR YEARS... 19-4-1949 PANSY, 28 stone Essex Sow on the farm of MR. JOHN BUTLER, of Stoke-by-Nayland, near Ipswich, on Saturday gave birth of a record British litter of 23 piglets.. In under four years Pansy has mothered 99 offspring in seven litters - two of them of 19 each. Normal litter is about 12 - of which only eight or nine can be successfully reared by the mother.
