TRACTOR GIRL. MJH/MAE. As is often the case with farmers' daughters, 16-years-old Joy Lamb, has a natural aptitude for tractor driving. She is employed in this work by Mr. Douglas Bomford of Pitchill, near Evesham, and is expert in handling the 40 h.p. Fowler Crawler Tractor. The plough is of a special design, jointly developed by Dr. A.J. Hosier and Mr. Douglas Bomford. It is a single beam reversible plough for 2,3 or 4 furrows. The plough bottoms are specially designed to bury top trash, including straw, deeply, without choking.
