    TRUG MAKERS SINCE 1851 In the same workshops that Thomas Smith made trugs (a vegetable basket) for exhibition in the 1851 Great Exhibition, at Herstmonceux, Sussex, his sons are still making the unusual products. The trugs are being shown at a Festival exhibit of handicrafts at a Brompton Road store, in London. PHOTO SHOWS - Sixteen yr old PAT RIPLEY who is seen painting a small trug at the Sussex works.
