ACTRESS POTTER. MJH/HT. A certain amount of fame has already come the way of the 15-months-old Chelsea Pottery, formed by David Rawnsley, a former film art director, since three bowls and a dish produced at the pottery have been acquired by the Victoria and Albert Museum. The museum authorities consider the Glazing technique of these articles to be quite unique. Besides being a commercial venture, the Pottery is also a Club, it's members being composed of many varied walks of of life, such as actresses, dentists, office workers, etc. as well as professional potters, who came to the Club (similar to another run by Mr. Rawnsley in Paris) and take advantage of the facilities provided - potters' wheels, kilns, etc. to produce their own articles of pottery. PHOTOGRAPH SHOWS: Miss Colette Melville, the actress, engrossed in her task of decorating salt and pepper sets, representing the "Owl and the Pussy Cat", at the Chelsea Pottery in Radnar Walk, of which she is a club member. Miss Melville has appeared in films as well as in the "live" theatre. FOX PHOTOS SEPTEMBER 16TH. 1953. Industry - Pottery
