'A sort of' from the Swedish choreographer Mats Ek had its premiere in 1997 during the Holland Festival and is made on the music of the beloved Polish composer Henryk Mikołaj Górecki. Ek was a dancer and choreographer at the Nederlands Dans Theater in the beginning of the ’eighties, after that artistic leader of the famous Cullberg Ballet, and then as a theatre director and guest choreographer. As a guest choreographer he has added some theatrical pieces to the repertoire of NDT, that carry that special Scandinavian ambiance. Also his wilful versions of the classical ballets 'Giselle' (1982) and 'Swanlake' (1987) have given him acknowledgement in the Netherlands.
