KIM Doojin (1973- ) adopts the strategy of appropriating a wide spectrum of representational clichés from such high-culture practices as art history to popular-culture ones such as cinema and animated film so as to divulge and deliver an attack against the gender-political ideologies operating behind them. Kim concludes that it is nothing but the human flesh (human body) that sets the defining criterions for all the values and divisions between male and female, between whites and blacks, between the youthful and the old, and between the beautiful and the ugly, and in consequence he strives to annihilate every prejudicial gazes towards humans by obliterating all the human flesh. A true liberation of humanity is obtained here through the wiping-out of the human body that has become an object of avarice and desire and thus a capitalist commodity and of social norms by which one determines what is normal and what is abnormal.
