(A)way Station was a traveling exhibition that investigates the physical and psychological dimensions of migration in relation to the domestic space and the city.
Compressing migrants and immigrants' experiences into one architectural exhibition, the artists expressed migratory inhabitation at the scale of architectural representation. The installation is comprised of freestanding plywood structures that housed domestic possessions, including clothing and furniture, cast in resin. Together, these elements represented migrants and refugees' interim domestic spaces. Designed as a travel exhibition, the show was to adapt to the conditions of its host institution, reflecting the migrant’s inherent transient condition.
