Abstract Sculpture

Elkana Ongesa comes from a long line of traditional stone curvers from Kisii, South Western Kenya (Nyanza Province). He attended Makerere University in Kampala and the University of Nairobi where he completed his post graduate thesis on stone carving in East Africa. Elkana went to teaching and continued to produce high quality sculptures, two of which grace the United Nations headquarters in Paris and New York.
