The project stems from Chang's long lasting interest and fascination with bicycles, their history in the larger context of China and their shifting presence across its ever more congested and polluted cities. The Bike House employs the bicycle as a powerful metaphor for the relationship between man and environment and a unit of both human and spatial measure.
