In 1985 Mattel, Inc. released the She-Ra-Princess of Power toy line of action figures to attract girls just as its He-Man line appealed to boys. The two toy lines were inexorably connected. He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe and son of King Randor and Queen Marlena on the planet of Eternia, was actually born with a twin sister who was stolen shortly after birth by Hordak, leader of the Evil Horde. She was raised to become Force Captain Adora. When she receives the magic sword from her true brother Prince Adam, she became She-Ra, Princess of Power and long-lost sister to He-Man. She-Ra joined her brother to fight the Evil Horde and was assisted by several other characters including Castaspella, Frosta, Glimmer, Queen Angella, Perfuma, and Sweet Bee.
