In 2000, Hasbro issued a new line of action figures after it had retired the series made for the release of "Episode I: The Phantom Menace. The new line, called the Power of the Jedi, featured figures of characters from Episode I and characters from the original trilogy (by 2000 referred to as Episodes IV through VI). The Power of the Jedi series continued for two years, and before Hasbro ended it, the company issued new figures of four characters from next movie in the saga, building a frenzy for the summer 2002 release of "Episode II: Attack of the Clones." Fans could hardly wait for the film's opening.
