Ageing warehouse at the Quinta do Portal I

Located at the extreme end of the settlement of Celeirós do Douro, the new wine-ageing warehouse of Quinta do Portal, keeps up with the transformation of the business sector, where agro-industrial activity coexists with cultural tourism. These challenges may have dictated the choices of the project’s architect, Alvaro Siza, who loans his prestige to the consolidation of the brand’s corporative image. It was built on slightly sloping terrain and perpendicular to the road, in alignment with the vineyards.
