To explain the process of the work by CHUN Kwangyoung(1944- ): the artist makes regular, expanded-polystyrene-foam cuts, wraps them up with hanji, straps them with cord, and finally assembles the resulting numerous objects on a canvas panel. The formal traits of his work allow it to be seen as a sandy or shingle beach. As the first of the three canvases comprising a single work of art, Aggregation 001-MA135(A) (2001) is an constructivist construct of the irregular attachment of such objects onto the entire surface of the canvas.
