Shirabyo-shi (traditional Japanese dancer) Hanako is a beautiful girl who appears in “Kyo
Kanokomusume Dojoji Temple (The maiden at DojojiTemple)”, a Kabuki program. She is
entering the Dojoji Temple, which was no women admitted while dancing with an Eboshi (Japanese
traditional formal headwear) on her head. The AIKO version of Hanako depicts her
dancing in front of Hokusai’s sea and Mount Fuji. In this piece, AIKO expresses her pride as
Japanese and sends a message to all women who work hard in overseas.
