Sanchez-Perrier met with great success in Europe and in America. In his body of work, he returned to the subject of Alcalá de Guadaira again and again, and his views of the area, located on the outskirts of Seville, earned him the name of the founder of the “School of Alcalá de Guadaira.” He was praised by critic Armand Gouzien wrote in 1888: “He is the most harmonious landscape artist we know…. He has an originality entirely his own.”
