This vase by the South African ceramicist Margot Rudolph (b.1965) is inspired by the Aloe plant. It was created for the 2009 National Ceramics Gauteng branch exhibition and won a prize. Short Biography: Rudolph obtained her National Diploma in Ceramic Design at the Pretoria Technikon in 1986. She returned full-time to pottery and opened her own studio in 1996. Margot works mainly in stoneware. Her individual style embraces a distinctly African theme. She draws her inspiration from indigenous plants and textures, manifesting in vibrantly unique ceramic works of art.
