At 60 meters from the top of Cerro Torre, the Patagonian legend, it is hung the memory of one of the biggest unsolved mysteries of the history of climbing. During the 70’s, Cesare Maestri tried to climb the 3,133 meters of Cerro Torre with a compressor drill. Once he was arrived at 60 meters from the top, as a challenging gesture, he stopped and started to climb down. He left the compressor drill tied to the last bolts and tried to smash the others while climbing down. One of these is in this cabinet.
