Museu de São Roque
Lisboa, Portugal

The composition of this frontal is made up of four decorative panels, in the centre of which one can see the emblem of the Brotherhood of Our Lady of the Doctrine namely the "Book of Doctrine" surrounded by the rosary of Our Lady, serving as the axis of each composition. The panels are associated with the Marian devotion, featuring rosary beads, stars and polylobed floral motifs, whose compositional style is similar to the surrounding inlayed marbles in the chapel of Doctrine.
