Altar of Saint Agatha and altarpiece of the Assumption

The Assumption, visible in this shot, is the bronze version of an altarpiece that the Veneranda Fabbrica decided to have cast in 1972 based on Lucio Fontana's plaster model, which he made at the request of the institution in 1955. As a matter of fact, Fontana should have transposed the model to Candoglia marble, but the project remained unfinished.
