Mala is one of the facilitators in A Brush With Art (ABWA) program - an art program run for the neurodiverse children who have difficulty in verbal and social communication. Mala is showing her student and his mother what they both are going to create during the art class. This is Mala’s home where she has converted her coffee table into a make-shift space for her art class with Rishi. Rishi is a student on the autism spectrum and has been in ABWA for the last few years. Along with his parents, he moved to Singapore just before the lockdown and the distance has not been a spoiler for them. Thanks to the internet and ABWA, the classes are being conducted online now and, despite living almost 3000 kilometers away from Chennai, Rishi and his mother Ramya, are still able to continue their art classes.
