An Inhabited Wall

Our installation consists of a reinterpretation of our first building built in 2018 in Grand-Lahou, Ivory Coast. Starting from the concrete brick, the available material, we developed the concept of a “wall inhabited in all its faces”; an architectural element of connection between the interior and the exterior. The concept revealed potential solutions to mediate the architectural patterns established in the semiurban Ivorian context that currently deny the possibilities of access and to open towards users via public buildings. On this occasion, in an attempt to explore resilient materials for our installation, we studied recycled plastic as a potential construction material to not only reinvent our industry, but also to act as a mechanism for generating environmental and social impact.
