We will present you two important books published by Ankara Agricultural Academy, in two different pictures. We think it is useful and interesting to offer you these books, which are in our food culture collection and cover very specific topics. It is also important because it is a journey to our history of the press and that the efforts put into these books are not forgotten and they guide new discoveries for today. The writer of the book “Anadolu Koyunlarının Yemden İstifade Kabiliyetleri” (“Feed Utilization Capabilities of Anatolian Sheep”) on our local sheep breeding is Dr. Halid Evliyat. The author explains the purpose of the book he wrote in 1936 as follows: “First of all, we have to determine the nutritional value of the feed in our possession in order to be able to feed the animals useful in agriculture in an economical way. Only then can we give the animal an economically reasonable feed.” These are the first words from a highly scientific and academic study on Anatolian sheep.
