Following the passing of this Act, Medical Schools had legal access to a far larger number of cadavers than before. Unclaimed bodies of those who had died in hospital, prisons and workhouses could now be dissected by the anatomists. As bodies became increasingly available, the Anatomy Act of 1832 signalled an end to the practise of graverobbing.
