This print is part of Hiroshige's series "Famous Views of Kyoto". Hiroshige is considered one of the last masters of the traditional ukiyo-e genre. Following the Meiji Restoration in 1868, the Westernization of Japan touched every aspect of life, including its traditional crafts.
