After completing her Masters in fine arts at the Chelsea College of Art and Design, Yeo founded
her own practice centred around drawing and the deconstruction of postmodern visual culture.
Her singular vision has been recognised with a plethora of prestigious awards.
Made from exquisitely engraved paper, this small work confounds the viewer, appearing both faint and translucent, yet maintaining its own distinct mass. With the absence of conventional dialogue, Ashley plays with the concept of a loss for words, attempting to softly recover the hidden qualities of the human condition. While striving for structural equanimity,
a series of messages are embedded into the complex exoskeleton. The deliberate combination of delicate materials with the intricate repetition of shapes is
a representation of the artist’s discourse about epidemics of visual culture, the obfuscation of things, the complexity of human condition and feelings
of alienation spurred by modern technology.
