Tottori, Japan

This armor was used by Ikeda Yoshiyasu, the 3rd feudal lord of the Tottori Domain. It is a do-maru type armor and it is called "Iroiro Odoshi Do-maru" as various colored threads were used to bind the armor. All the parts of the armor, including the oshode (large sleeves), are intact. Tailor-made for a lord, this luxurious armor is marked with the Tokugawa crest and Gionmori crest on metal parts. The Ikeda family crest was the swallowtail butterfly crest, however, Ikeda was also allowed to use the Tokugawa crest.
The Gionmori crest was his substitute crest.
