Arnold Schönberg spent the summers 1921–23 in Traunkirchen at Traunsee with his family, from 1922 in the villa of Baron Hermann Roner (now Kalvarienberg 4). The veranda offered a clear view of Lake Traun. Apart from Schönberg’s pupils, whom he also taught during the summer holidays, Georg Alter also visited; he was the secretary of the Society for Private Musical Performances in Prague and took several portraits of the composer and his family.
