Arnold Schönberg lodged at the Hôtel Bristol et Majestic in Monte-Carlo, Monaco, from December 1928 to February 1929. “AS and TS [Trude=Gertrud Schönberg] achieved some very good results at the Club Tournament in Monte-Carlo two weeks ago, although even with a large handicap they did not win a prize (10 French francs). On the other hand, AS’s progress is generally acknowledged.” (Arnold and Gertrud Schönberg, Allgemeines Artrud Journal, 22 September 1928).
