Codorníu boasts 2 very special accolades: it is the oldest family firm in Spain (founded in 1551), as well as the oldest company in the Cava-producing sector, producing its first bottle in 1872. The Codorníu wine cellars in San Sadurní de Noya are a key example of Catalan Art Nouveau architecture, and also hold the status of National Historic and Artistic Monument. Built by architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch between 1902 and 1915, Lluís Bonet i Garí (1930–80) made subsquent additions.

Ars Collecta La Fideuera is a cava that has aged slowly for more than 90 months at a constant temperature of 14 ° C between the thick walls of what was the first Codorníu cellar. The qualification of Rated Spot, awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Environment, is an exclusive hallmark for those cavas made with grapes from a specific area, whose own edaphic and microclimatic conditions, together with quality criteria in their production and preparation, have led to a cava with unique characteristics, and that only have 15 cavas from all over the country, three of them made by Codorníu.
