ART4WELLNESS: Live Art Collage

From the Artist: On the morning of March 28th, I woke up with an idea. I pitched the idea to Katori, and fellow Yonkers-based artist Luisa Baptista. After a two-hour teleconference, we came up with a solution that could benefit many artists. ART4WELLNESS was born on Wednesday, April 1st. We used our collective talents to market, promote and host this weekly live art event via ZOOM. This was a great opportunity to stay connected during this time of social distancing. For 25 consecutive weeks we provided a platform for artists of many disciplines to join us from 8pm–11pm. Each week we provided an inspirational theme. The event featured music provided by Uptown Vinyl Supreme, a Bronx-based DJ crew and we spotlighted each artist in their creative flow as we enjoyed the great music. Artists from New York, Atlanta, Florida, California, Brazil, Africa, Mexico, and other locations logged in to join this creative community. What made the event magical was during the final hour where Katori would have a moment of meditation and a discussion about how we are all coping under these new circumstances.

I created the middle painting on the 25th week of our live art event. It captures the vibe we experienced each week.
