Many engineers from Muslim civilisation were famous for their ingenuity including Al-Jazari from 11th-century Diar Bakir in southern modern-day Turkey, Al-Muradi who lived in Cordoba in the 11th century, the Banu Musa brothers of 9th-century Baghdad, Taqi al-Din bin Ma'aruf (16th-century), and Ridwan Al-Sa'ati (13th-century) of Damascus to mention a few.
