This Noh costume called “Atsuita” is worn by a male role. The surface of the fabric is segmented into red and white blocks. It shows uneven lattice patterns in brown and green on the white blocks, while clouds and battle-ax patterns on the red blocks. The battle-ax is a suitable motif for the costume representing a powerful man.
