The costume of noh drama called Atsuita, a stately costume with clear and strong design, is mainly used for a male role.
This Atsuita costume has a checkerboard pattern called ‘Ishidatami’, on which two kinds of mythical Shishi lions are arranged regularly, but each Shishi lion and Ishidatami pattern has a different color arrangement. This rich variation gives a light and refined taste to this costume.
