On the top of the broad lip is what might be a pursuit scene (women, an altar). The upper register of the body has scenes related to the Trojan war. On one side, Menelaus recovers Helen, as Aphrodite, holding a small Eros, stands between them. On the other side, Priam sits on an altar; Polyxena flees while Achilles pursues Troilus. On the lower register are two scenes involving the pursuit of women. On one side, the pursuer is a winged figure, on the other, a young man with spears in petasos and chlamys. Each long upright handle is decorated with a single standing figure. The more fully preserved figure carries a writing tablet. At the top of each is a flat plaque with a checkerboard pattern on one side, a palmette on the other, and is punctuated by three pairs of holes. Each is topped by a pair of horns. The vessel has a ring foot.
