Attivecomeprima Onlus is the first association, born in Italy and founded in 1973 in Milan by an ex-patient, Ada Burrone, to improve the quality of life of cancer patients and their families. It uses its own method of work, systematic and transferable, able to reduce the physical and psychological suffering during and after cancer treatment, with particular emphasis on chemotherapy and its heavy side effects. Attivecomeprima has participated in WE-Women for Expo with the project “Sustain for a Year”, which supports, psychologically and physically, cancer patients and caregivers. This project offers several services, as welcoming, listening, orientation and practical help; weekly meetings divided into three groups of psychological support; weekly meetings for each psychophysical and creative activity; group meetings for families/caregivers; medical consultancies and informative group meetings. These services are offered for free to strengthen oncological treatments, in an integrated way.
