These slim, tapered slip-on shoes have a marquetry pattern of cream coloured leather on the toecap that is contoured in yellow decorative stitches. The silk ribbon with which all edges and seams are trimmed is also yellow. The shoes are lined with white linen and yellow leather trim accentuates the heel. The original taffeta bow is preserved on the right shoe. A similar pair with identical decoration, but of olive-coloured leather, is in the possession of the Costume Council Fund of the Los Angeles County Museum (Cat. LA 1983, cat. no. 173).
