Number plates

The different number plates that were in use in the Saarland are also an expression of the reciprocal history of the region. From 1920 to 1945, the number plates used the four capital letters "SAAR" and a multi-digit number. The plate with the sequence "SAAR 30911" belonged to a mining vehicle of the Geislautern pit.
