Among the richly branched trees, metiliciously detailed, in the center of the composition a bent female figure collecting fruits. The bottom part of the picture richly colored with colorful, autumn leaves. The sky and trees inhabited by many birds.
Ivan Lackovic Croata was born January 1, 1932 in the village of Batinska in Podravina. He finished elementary school, was a farmer, and then moved to Zagreb to work as a postman. His first solo exhibition was in Zagreb in 1964. He has been a pupil of the great master Krsto Hegedusic. From 1968 he devoted himself to painting professionally. The poetic vision of the world and line painting light, relaxed and melodious, are the core values which raise Lackovic in naive painting world. He died in Zagreb on August 29 2004.
