This animal skin baby holder is used for carrying babies on their mother's back. It is made by by old men . A cow is killed by an old man by tying a cow skin thong round its mouth and nose, suffocating it. Afterwards, blood is collected and poured by on the doors of the homestead. If the baby for whom the carrier was made was bouncing and healthy baby. It is used by the child and supposed to bring good health. It was never sold or thrown but passed on to another baby. If it becomes old and torn they will take all the pieces and rejoin with new skin.
