Baby Tender Love, a variation of a drink-and-wet doll, first appeared in Mattel catalogs in the early 1970s. The doll had a nonposable body which made it suitable for nurturing play and for bathing. The doll had soft, life-like skin made of "Dublon." The doll came in a talking version, one with an African American complexion, and in several anatomically correct versions.
