Baby doll:Talking Sofskin

The company started by Edward Imeson Horsman began producing toys in 1865 and became a leader of doll making in the United States. Around 1909, the company introduced a new formula for its composition dolls which it marketed as "Can't Break 'Em" dolls. By the 1950s, Horsman produced dolls of vinyl and plastic. Its line of Sofskin dolls offered little girls dolls with the texture of an infant's skin and advertised the dolls as having "the soft skin you love to touch." In addition to carrying on conversations, the Talking Sofskin was a drink and wet doll and one that could be bathed too.
