Joseph Parry was an Able Seaman on Lusitania when she was torpedoed.

Joseph worked alongside Leslie Morton to save over 100 survivors from the sea, and both were awarded Board of Trade medals for gallantry by King George V.

A lady passenger gave Joseph one of her baby’s shoes after he saved their lives. Tragically the mother and child later died. Joseph always treasured this very personal memento writing “Lest We Forget Lusitania 7th May 1915” on the sole.
