Transcription:

"At the Front Sept 3rd
My Angel Wife,

Recvd 2 dandy little card letters from you last night & again that little worry about me forgetting my girl. No little sweetheart mine- if anything happens in the future to prevent me writing my baby girl- God knows little one, its not because I don’t think of you. Love my own sweet little wife more than any husband in the world ever loved his wife.

I’m going to be very busy for some time Corinne angel but be a brave good girl- I hear my angels prayers and get her good night kisses and hugs just the same over here.

Write to father & Kathleen for me Corinne- when I go for a rest if possible. I will write them there- also all the dear ones of home- It’s too bad I’ve been away from home so long the last few years but sometime soon I will visit them all together. My little sweetheart wife, God bless her & bless & keep her for me- She will be happy there and forever

Worlds & worlds of love
Your husband

Side note:
I picked these little forget-me-nots for my angel last night, in “No mans land”. They were pretty when I picked them & entirely to innocent and delicate to grow in such a place. I carried them in my pocket & spoiled them."
