Sydney John Bunney (1877-1928)
is known for his accurate views of Coventry streets and buildings. The Herbert has
over five hundred of Bunney’s pencil and watercolour drawings of Coventry. This
watercolour frames the back of the Oak Inn on Gosford Street. The contrast
between the red brick wall and the green plant growth brings life and energy to
the scene.
