Qing-dynasty Women’s Navy-blue Satin Jacket with Floral Medallions Back View

With a crew neck, a vertical placket, short broad sleeves and two side slits, this jacket adopted plain navy-blue satin for outer fabric and moonlight white silk twill for lining. Its neckline with narrow piping is decorated with flowers rendered in two to four shades of mineral blue, while its sleeves with mineral blue piping embellished with colored flowers via seed stitches on a yellow ground, 卍 patterns, and flowers rendered in two to four shades of mineral blue. Seven bat-floral-medallions can be found on front and back of shoulder, chest, back, and placket of this garment, with recurring patterns of butterflies and flowers in four seasons. Its lower half is ornamented with designs of seamounts and waves.
