All parts of a bird can be turned into functional objects. Especially in the Arctic, birds feet have been turned into waterproof bags. The feet of several large seabirds have been used by an Inuit woman to produce this pouch from Cape York in northwestern Greenland. 19 seabird species from Greenland are still hunted today and part of the food basis of the people living there.
