Viewing Notes: Multiple Choice: From Sample to ProductBased on a pattern by Giovanni Andrea Vavassore, embroidered bands such as this were used to trim household linen. Demand for pattern books was steady in the sixteenth century, and pattern makers copied extensively from one another, documenting the design vocabulary of the period.
