The scene of the Baptism of Christ is inserted in a quadrangular wooden plaque with a rounded top, with a totally sgraffito flat background, leaving the burnished gold visible. The carved and gilded wooden frame is decorated with geometrical motifs in relief, arranged symmetrically.
The compositional axis of the figuration is dominated by the figure of Christ, in a frontal position, with the River Jordan in the centre. The angel and St. John the Baptist are to be seen on elevated terrain, with sections of flora and trees depicted on a small scale and in low relief.
