Basket

Twined basket made by women and girls from strings rolled on the thigh from sisal or muamba(baobab) fiber cut from the tree by young boys. The basket is patterned with strings dyed with red ochre and charcoal and the straps attached are made from cowhide. It is used by women to carry things like vegetables, fruits, grains and flour from the shambas(farms) to the market.
