With this sculpture it start the long series of bathers, women represented in different ways, drying themselves, sitting, curled up, naked, but always sweetened both in their body traits and in their features. Starting from this work it is possible to spot the characteristics of the “placid vestal”, a harmonic nude which is completely cloaked in the vest she’s keeping the hems of while walking. The pose caught the woman’s gait while looking down, her body slightly leaning forward is portrayed in all her grace, shapes that are accompanied by ritual gestures, cadenced pose and discreet silence.
